Experience the site of the 1984 Olympics in Sarajevo. Mount Trebevic was home to the winter Olympics, just 7 year before the Bosian war. You can still explore this area of once modern infrastructure, now left abandoned. The story of a nation divided, of victories, and of perseverance is told through the lasting relics of the Olympics.
We will begin our day together at our centrally located office to pick out bikes and go over the day. We'll kick things off by embarking on 10 kilometers climb uphill towards Trebević mountain. Our preferred route was the front line during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1992-95, and your guide will stop periodically to explain more about the reasons behind this war and the cultural shift that took place in the late 90's.
Once we arrive at the top of the mountain, we will have a picture-perfect spot for a picnic lunch. The 360 degree panoramic view is worth the climb! Afterwards, we will decide which single track is the best option for us. We can also tackle an abandoned bob sleigh track, as they're great for riding down! After a bit of fun on the mountain, we'll make our way back to Sarajevo, stopping to explore some of the city center on our way back to our office. This is a fun, action filled day that you won't want to miss!
