KRAKOW CITY BIKE TOUR
Krakow City Bike Tour
TOUR DESCRIPTION

Krakow is a city waiting to be explored, and this 4-hour tour will introduce you to all the highlights! Starting in Europe's largest medieval market square, we will meet beneath the Adam Mickiewicz statue where your guide will provide you with a short introduction about the history of Krakow and then help you get fitted for your bikes just a few steps away at our office. From there, we will trace the medieval city walls and moat along the Planty gardens as it winds its way to the Wawel Castle, a site believed to be a spiritual chakra. Your guide will fill you in on all of the history, culture, and gossip surrounding this unusual renaissance building.

Cycling on, we will follow the current of the Vistula river to the district of Podgorze, the site of the WWII ghetto. This is where Oskar Schindler's infamous factory was located. The building has been transformed into the Krakow City Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art, and your guide will explain the timeline and history of Schindler's Enamel Factory up to its modern use. Later, we will cross the river into Kazimierz, the historic Jewish quarter of town. Much of this area was destroyed during World War II, but the remnants tell a powerful story of perseverance as this is now one of Krakow's most bustling neighborhoods.

We will wrap up the tour cycling back towards the main square along the Royal Route, a ceremonial path connecting the medieval old town to the former royal residence. Throughout the day, you will see and experience the culture of Krakow firsthand. This is the perfect way to get oriented with this beautiful, historic city.
