Where is the meeting point?

Your tour meets at our shop which is just off Karlsplatz 4 (Stachus), the bustling square between the Main Train Station (Hauptbahnhof) and Marienplatz. At the Karlsplatz fountain with your back to Karlstor and the pedestrian shopping street, turn right along Sonnenstrasse. After 50 meters, you will see our shop in the courtyard of Karlsplatz 4, on the right-hand side. The closest metro station is Karlsplatz (Stachus).

Is this a good tour for children?

Absolutely! This city bike tour maintains a leisurely pace, with only slight elevation gains. We will ride on varying surfaces from smooth gravel to pavement. For anyone riding their own bike, we ask that they have at least some experience riding bikes prior to this tour feel comfortable riding in a group. We have various bike accessories and smaller bike sizes available for young riders: • for infants 1-3 years old who can hold their head up, we have baby seats that hook onto the back of an adult bike. These baby seats can accommodate up to 48lbs/22kg • for children 1-5 years old or weighing up to 88lbs/40kg, we have covered trailers available. These trailers can accommodate two children as long as the weight limit is respected. • for children 5-10 years old or weighing up to 70lbs/32kg, we have tag-a-long tandems that hook onto the back of an adult bike. These tandems allow the child to pedal while steering and braking is controlled by the adult rider. • for children 9+ years old who are comfortable riding a bike, we have 24" wheeled bikes available. Kids between 4'2"-4'8"/128-146cm usually do great with these bikes You can reserve specific accessories or bikes for your children when checking out, or feel free to reach out to us if you have more questions about the options. All bikes come equipped with Nexus three-speed gear shifters and hand brakes.

How intense is the cycling on this tour?

We categorize our Munich Bike Tour as leisurely cycling. We want everyone to be safe and have fun, so confidence in yourself is paramount. There are plenty of bike lanes in Munich and vehicles and pedestrians are accustomed to cyclists. We ask that all riders be comfortable riding in a group, starting and stopping, and using hand brakes. We will give plenty of directions before and throughout the tour to ensure everyone's safety.

What's included in the tour?

We provide the bike, a helmet (available for free but not mandatory), a local, knowledgable guide, and plenty of opportunities to stop for photos and ask questions. We will also include a stop at traditional Bavarian beer garden in the English Garden. The cost of any food or drink during the tour is at your discretion, as are gratuities. We will not enter any of the museums or monuments that we see during this tour, as that would extend it to a full day event. We will, however, provide you with plenty of information to circle back to the sites that interest you most and equip you with the know-how to make the most of your visit.

What if I need to leave the tour early?
