Although the Sagrada Familia may have specific restrictions in place depending on when you're joining us, we're happy to confirm that the rest of this tour will fully outdoors, which makes it a great option for visiting Barcelona safely. We are committed to sanitizing all high-touch surfaces, such as seats and handlebars, before and after each use. We are happy to provide masks for anyone who may need one (should you need to wear one inside the temple) and we will have hand sanitizer readily available. We will also maintain social distancing throughout the tour.
Your tour meets in the corner of Plaça Sant Jaume near the intersection Carrer del Call and Carrer de Sant Honorat near the Starbucks. Look for your guide with a blue bike with a Fat Tire Tours flag. The closest metro stations are Jaume I (L4) and Liceu (L3). Please arrive 15 minutes prior to tour departure. Since other tours also meet in this same plaza, be sure to confirm that you are with the Fat Tire Tours group.
The Sagrada Familia is still an active place of worship, so all guests are required to cover their shoulders and knees; no sleeveless shirts or shorts. If you want to bike in something cooler, you are welcome to bring a change of clothes along and put them on prior to entering the holy areas. We cannot be held responsible for denied entry due to improper dress.
Helmets are only required for riders under 16, but they are available free of charge to anyone who wishes to use one. Helmets are sanitized before and after each use.
Absolutely! A bike tour is a great way for kids to engage with Barcelona, and skipping the line at the Sagrada Familia is a great way to keep them engaged even inside the temple. The itinerary is very flat and our tours take care to use bike lanes whenever possible. When we need to ride in or alongside traffic, our guides will communicate directions clearly to ensure everyone's safety. We only ask that if your child is joining the tour, he/she be comfortable riding a bike, and riding in a group.
Should your child need a small bike or bike accessory, you can reserve these after choosing the 'child' option in checkout. Simply scroll down and choose your preferred option. If your child won't require a smaller bike, you can leave this area blank.
We have organized timed-entry tickets for the Sagrada Família, and we will admire other Gaudí and modernism buildings from the outside.
Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate special requests like this on our public tours. We ask that all participants be comfortable riding a bike and plan on joining us for the duration of the tour. If you have non-bike riding family members that wish to join us for lunch, simply let us know in the notes section of your booking and we will do our best to coordinate so that they can meet us on tour.
