We take safety very seriously, before, during and after you tour. That's why we've increased our daily sanitation of all high-touch surface areas (think handlebars, seats, etc.), we have hand sanitizer & masks available for all guests, we practice social distancing on tour, and we offer a 100% contactless check-in. We are committed to doing everything we can to keep both you the guest and our staff as safe as possible.

Yes! If your children are comfortable on a bicycle, then this is a great way to explore Florence as a family. We only ask that your kids be confident on a bike, comfortable riding in a group, and don't mind uneven surfaces such as cobblestones. We also ask that anyone under 18 years old be accompanied by an adult. We have a two small bike sizes available for young riders: • extra small 20 inch wheeled bikes, generally for kids 6-12 years old or those between 3.1-4.3ft (95-130cm) • small 24 inch wheeled bikes, generally for kids 9+ years old or those between 4.2-4.8ft (128-146cm) You can reserve these smaller bikes after choosing children's tickets when checking out, or feel free to reach out to us if you have more questions about the options! We unfortunately do not have any tandems, tricycles, or tag-along trailers available. All participants must be able to ride their own bike. All bikes come with 3-speeds and hand breaks.
We’re happy to offer free changes and 100% refund up to 24 hours before tour departure. Failure to cancel a reservation at least 24 hours prior to scheduled departure may result in forfeited travel funds. Fare difference may apply. Our tours run rain or shine, and we have rain ponchos available in our office. We encourage all guests to consult the weather forecast and plan your dress accordingly. In the summer months, please prepare for the heat by bringing/wearing adequate sun protection, and staying hydrated. Even if you are accustomed to high temperatures, air-conditioning is not always available in Italy.
Helmets are available at no extra cost but they are not mandatory for adults in Italy. We do have helmets of all sizes that are cleaned after each use. Studies have shown that helmets can reduce head injuries by at least 85%.
Unfortunately, we won't have enough time during this three-hour bike tour to allow everyone to enter the various museums. We will, however, provide you with the best information to go back and see the places that interest you most, including the history of the famous artists, architects, and scholars who contributed to the beautiful sites that we'll see throughout Florence.
Florence is full of cobblestone streets, so we wouldn't recommend this activity for those who are expecting.
We recommend arriving 15 minutes early which will give you plenty of time to checkin and pick out your bike. Our office is located in central Florence, so you will want to allow for extra time to navigate the streets.
Please give us a ring at +39 334 548 0264 if you are having any trouble finding our office, and our staff will be happy to help you find your way.
Yes! Please contact our Private Tours team at italy@fattiretours.com to see what options we have. We would love to help you make you celebrate your special occasion or make your family or friends trip unique!
This tour maintains a leisurely pace, but we do want to ensure that everyone has already ridden a bike prior to the tour and feels generally comfortable on a bike. This is a great tour for intermediate bike riders. You should have good balance, be able to start and stop comfortably, and be familiar with hand brakes. Most of this tour is on roads and although we stick together as a group and carve out a lane for ourselves, we ask that all guests feel confident with their riding ability. The road surfaces in Florence vary and may include cobbled streets as well as smooth gravel and pavement. Safety is our number one priority but confidence in yourself is the first step to overall group safety. If you're not sure how you'll fare, we invite you to come to our office about 30 minutes prior to your tour start time to try the bikes.
