Milan Bike tour
Important Information
Where does my tour meet?

Your tour departs from Via Ceresio 7, 20154, Milan. We are about a 3 minute walk from Monumentale Metro Station which is on the M5 line.

Is this a good tour for kids?

Yes! If your children are comfortable on a bicycle, then this is a great way to explore Florence as a family. We only ask that your kids be confident on a bike, comfortable riding in a group, and don't mind uneven surfaces such as cobblestones. We also ask that anyone under 18 years old be accompanied by an adult. We have a two small bike sizes available for young riders: • extra small 20 inch wheeled bikes, generally for kids 6-12 years old or those between 3.1-4.3ft (95-130cm) • small 24 inch wheeled bikes, generally for kids 9+ years old or those between 4.2-4.8ft (128-146cm) You can reserve these smaller bikes after choosing children's tickets when checking out, or feel free to reach out to us if you have more questions about the options! We unfortunately do not have any tandems, tricycles, or tag-along trailers available. All participants must be able to ride their own bike. All bikes come with 3-speeds and hand breaks.

What is the cancellation policy?

We’re happy to offer free changes and 100% refund up to 24 hours before tour departure. Failure to cancel a reservation at least 24 hours prior to scheduled departure may result in forfeited travel funds. Fare difference may apply. Our tours run rain or shine, and we have rain ponchos available in our office. We encourage all guests to consult the weather forecast and plan your dress accordingly. In the summer months, please prepare for the heat by bringing/wearing adequate sun protection, and staying hydrated. Even if you are accustomed to high temperatures, air-conditioning is not always available in Italy.

Are helmets included and do I need to wear one?

Helmets are available at no extra cost but they are not mandatory for adults in Italy. We do have helmets of all sizes that are cleaned after each use. Studies have shown that helmets can reduce head injuries by at least 85%.

Do we go inside the museums and monuments?

Unfortunately, the tour duration does not give us enough time to enter any of the sites that we see on tour. This tour is designed to enjoy the city from a broad perspective and come away with a greater understanding of its history and layout.

What time do I need to arrive for my tour?

We recommend arriving 15 minutes early which will give you plenty of time to checkin and pick out your bike. Our office is located in central Florence, so you will want to allow for extra time to navigate the streets.

I haven't ridden a bike in a while, will I be able to do this tour? in years; will I be able to participate?

While all of our tours maintain a leisurely pace, we want our guests to have fun and be safe, so being able to ride a bike is paramount. Our Milan Bike Tour is perfect for intermediate bike riders. You should have good balance, be able to start and stop comfortably, and be familiar with hand brakes. Some of this tour is on roads and although we stick together as a group and carve out a lane for ourselves, we ask that all guests feel confident with their riding ability. The road surfaces in Milan vary and may include cobbled streets as well as smooth gravel and pavement. Safety is our number one priority but confidence in yourself is the first step to overall group safety.

Can I join the tour if I am pregnant?

Pregnant women are strongly discouraged from joining bike tours due to cobbled streets.

MORE INFORMATION

This small-group tour is a relaxing and fun pedal through the beautiful fashion and financial capital of Italy. Several of Milan’s most fascinating sites are located along cycle-friendly paths, so it’s just a matter of having one of our local guides to show you the way and direct you through the warren of streets between them. Whether you’re in Milan for the first time, or you’re a frequent visitor, our goal is to not overwhelm you with facts and figures. Instead, we show you the incredible landmarks that represent the city, and we give you the basic context from which you can better appreciate these monuments. We sprinkle in many unique and fascinating stories, a series of fantastic photo opportunities, a comfortable 3-speed bike and excellent personal service from your guide and our support staff. Milan is one of Italy’s most complicated cities. It has not fossilised like Venice, it doesn’t stand for a single era like Florence and it is not as culturally iconic as Rome. Milan is an incredible mix of the old and the new, a mercurial blend of art and commerce, it is where Italy meets and blends with Europe and if you join us on this tour then our goal is to help you fall in love with this amazing city the way that those of us who live here have… and to have a fun time doing so!
