ROME NIGHT BIKE TOUR
Explore Rome as the City Comes to Life and Enjoy a Glass of Local Red Wine
TOUR DESCRIPTION

Rome is always beautiful, but The Eternal City is at its very best at night.  As the sun sets and the working day ends, our this tour dives straight into the neighborhoods and backstreets that are the beating heart of the city.  We’ll see the Trastevere neighborhood as it comes alive with Romans at play.  Its overflowing restaurants and terraces are the true embodiment of ‘La Dolce Vita’.  Your guide will point out the glamorous Via Condotti, famed for both the Spanish Steps and the epicenter of high fashion in the Italian capital.  We'll mix unknown with the world famous, including hidden gems that make Rome sparkle.  To arrive at the columned entrance to St Peter’s Basilica at the golden hour as the crowds clear is an unforgettable moment.  Pausing alongside one of Rome's famed bridges for a glass (or two!) of local red wine is the perfect break in a memorable evening.  This tour is a wonderful adventure on its own, or why not it in addition to our Day Bike Tour?  It's certainly one of the best ways to experience Rome in all its glory.

HIGHLIGHTS
The perfect complement to our Rome Day Bike Tour, on this evening bike tour you will head out to discover the little streets and hidden gems of the popular area called “Trastevere”. Famous for overflowing restaurants, street food, and nightlife, this is the beating heart of “La Dolce Vita”. Passing through the Trastevere, we will visit the medieval and Catholic part of the city, traveling as far as the great columned entrance to Saint Peter’s Basilica and Castel Sant’Angelo. On a bridge with a truly majestic view, your guide will open some local red wine and try to convince you the regional grapes around Rome are superior to those found in Tuscany! In the last part of the tour, we will give you a glimpse of the glamorous side of the eternal city, taking via Condotti (Rome’s 5th Avenue) to visit the Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish steps. *Please note that we do not have trailers/tag-alongs available for children on this tour. We ask that all children be capable of riding their own bike, or for children 1-3 years old, you can reserve a baby seat.

Important Information
How are you safeguarding against Covid?

We are proud to continue to offer safe and fun tours that follow local guidelines. We have enhanced our cleaning and guarantee that all high-touch surfaces are sanitized before and after each tour. We will maintain socially distanced tours, and offer contact-less guest check in. Guests are not required to enter our office to join us on tour, but of course are welcome to do so to use the restroom provided a mask is worn.

Where does this tour meet?

This tour meets at our office, located at Via dei Delfini 35/36, Rome. We are about a 5 minute walk from Piazza Venezia.

How difficult is the cycling?

Our Rome Night Bike Tour is a great way for intermediate bike riders to experience the city. While the ride itself is not difficult, we ask that all guests be comfortable riding a bike and confident in their own ability. Guests should have good balance, be able to start and stop comfortably, and be familiar with hand brakes. A lot of this tour will require riding with traffic and although we stick together as a group and carve out a lane for ourselves, we ask that everyone feel confident with their own ability. Everyone's safety is the most important aspect of the tour, and this is achieved by each rider's confidence in themselves and good communication throughout the tour.

If you're still unsure, we would love for you to come to our office about 30 minutes prior to your tour start time to give the bikes a test ride.

Will this tour be good for my kids?

We think so! And lots of families that have already joined us have thoroughly enjoyed their experience. This tour gets kids involved with the sites and it gets them excited about Rome. Our only request is that your children feel comfortable on bikes and that they have been riding for a while. Confidence riding in a group and navigating various surfaces such as cobbled streets are also key to their overall enjoyment of the tour.

All guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult on the tour. We have various sized bikes to accommodate just about every size of rider, and you can select a smaller bike when choosing the 'children' option in the checkout. Just scroll down to see the various sizes and details about each bike.

Unfortunately, we do not have tricycles, tandems, or bikes with training wheels for adults or children that may be less confident in their riding ability.

What's the cancellation policy?

If you're joining us on our Rome Night Bike Tour, we're happy to offer free changes and 100% refund up to 24 hours before tour. Failure to cancel a reservation at least 24 hours prior to scheduled departure may result in forfeited travel funds. Fare difference may apply. For anyone reserving our Private Rome Night Bike Tour, all cancellations or rebookings must be made at least 7 days in advance of the activity start time. Failure to cancel a reservation at least 7 days prior to scheduled departure may result in forfeited travel funds. Reschedulings are subject to availability.

What if the weather is bad?

Rome has a moderate climate, and we're usually able to run our tours without issue. We intend on operating rain or shine, and we advise all guests to dress appropriately for the weather. We also have have rain ponchos available in our office free of cost.

During the summer, please prepare for the heat by bringing/wearing adequate sun protection, and having plenty of water on hand. All of our bikes come equipped with luggage racks where you can carry small bags/water bottles. Note that air-conditioning is not always available in Rome, and it can get quite hot in the summer.

Will I need to wear a helmet?

Helmets are provided free of charge, however only children are required to wear them. Studies have shown that helmets can reduce head injuries by at least 85%.

Is there an option for non-wine drinkers?

Yes! Please let your guide/staff know when checking in for the tour, and we will be happy to provide you with juice.

Do I need to make a reservation in advance?

Yes, reservations are required for this tour, but if you haven't reserved in advance, feel free to swing by our office anyway! We will do our best to accommodate you.

Will we enter the museums we see?

This tour is more about getting a feel for the late afternoon/early evening vibes in Rome and less about museum visits. We will be happy to provide you with information to go back and visit the museums that interest you most later in your stay.

How can I call your office?

If you are having difficulty finding the meeting location for your tour, please call us at +39 338 309 7398 and our staff will be happy to help you find your way.

Can I join the tour if I'm expecting?

Pregnant women are strongly discouraged from joining bike tours due to the varied pavements and the many cobbled streets.
