FRENCH QUARTER & GARDEN DISTRICT
The Heritage of the French Quarter and the Beauty of the Garden District in One
TOUR DESCRIPTION

Both the French Quarter and the Garden District are iconic communities of New Orleans that deserve to be explored. Over the course of 3.5 hours, we will take you to our favorite destinations in both, explain the history and significance of each landmark, and help you appreciate the Big Easy just a little bit more.

The Garden District is known for its colorful mansions of colonial and Victorian architecture, it's oak-tree-lined roads, and it's community feel. We will cycle under these breezy trees and take you to some of our favorite houses and hotspots, stopping at each to share fun and interesting stories.

We will then cycle through the bustling French Quarter, known for Bourbon Street and nightly parties. This is a great area of town to explore during the day; your guide will provide you with plenty of recommendations to enjoy it later in the evening!

This tour also includes a visit to the Treme neighborhood, which is one of the most culturally-rich communities of New Orleans. Best known for its post-Katrina fame, this neighborhood is still rebuilding today.

Each of these districts comes with its own history, culture, and way of life, and we would love to introduce you to all of them!

Important Information
How is this tour affected by covid?

We are happy to continue offering our same, great, outdoor cycle tours while respecting local guidelines. You may or may not be asked to wear a mask depending on when you join us; feel free to reach out in advance to confirm. We also guarantee that all high-touch surfaces will be sanitized regularly and hand sanitizer will be made available to all guests. Your safety is our number one priority, and we're happy to do whatever we can to ensure it throughout the tour.

Where is the meeting point?

All tours begin and end at 1735 Washington Ave (the corner of Baronne and Washington Ave). This is two blocks from the Washington (Garden District) stop on the St. Charles streetcar line. Please arrive 15min before your scheduled departure time.

Will I be required to wear a helmet?

While helmets are not mandatory, we have them available free of charge for all ages!

What's best to bring along?

We'll like to stop for a drink at a local café (cost of purchases not included in the tour), so please sure to bring some extra cash.

Will water be included?

We are happy to include a free bottle of water but it can get extremely hot in New Orleans. We recommend bringing an extra bottle with you; don't worry, there's a place on the bike to secure it!

What's the cancellation policy?

We're happy to offer free changes and 100% refund up to 24 hours before tour. Failure to cancel a reservation at least 24 hours prior to scheduled departure may result in forfeited travel funds. Fare difference may apply.

Is this a good tour for children?

We think so! We have 2-wheeled tandems available for kids up to 12 years old or 100lbs (45kg). They can pedal or coast. We ask that all riders over 100lbs (45kg) feel comfortable riding their own bicycle as we do not have adult tandems/training wheels available. We also have smaller mountain bikes for kids who can ride on their own. Just let us know your child's age and/or height in the notes of your booking and we'll be sure to set aside the proper equipment! Important Note: All child bikes use hand brakes, there are no pedal brakes available.

What should I wear?

We recommend comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes; there is no need to wear full-on bike gear, but you can certainly do so if you'd like. This is a leisurely tour, and your comfort and safety are the most important to us.

Will we enter any of the buildings?

Unfortunately, we won't have enough time in 3.5 to learn about the city of New Orleans from a broad perspective and enter the various monuments we'll see along the way. As such, we haven't included time to enter the buildings we'll see, but our guides will give you all of the information you need to go back and visit these great landmarks on your own after the tour.

How many people are in a group?

We guarantee no more than 8 guests per guide.
